ColoursYellow
SizeHeight: 3m/10ft
Spread: 3m/10ft
AspectPrefers full sun or partial shade. Suitable for North, East, South or West facing gardens.
CareNeeds reasonably fertile, moist but well drained soil. After flowering, prune back the flowered shoots to strong buds lower down the plant. On old plants, cut about one third to a quarter of old stems to the base every 4-5 years. If the plants have been neglected and turned leggy, cut them back hard (over a period of two years) to rejuvenate them. Trim hedges in summer.
Uses-Stunning specimen plants
-Mixed beds or borders
-Cottage/informal gardens
-Deciduous hedges
-Flower arranging
DescriptionA really reliable deciduous plant. It is fully hardy, so even in the coldest temperatures it will flower profusely in Spring (and sometimes in late Winter), covering its wooden branches with cheery yellow blooms. Looks good with red flowering currants (e.g. Ribes).
