| Aspect | Sun or partial shade is preferred, with shelter from cold, drying winds. |
| Care | Hebes grow in poor to reasonably fertile, moist but well drained soil. They prefer neutral to slightly alkaline soil. In late Winter or early Spring, remove any misplaced growth that is spoiling the shape (only prune lightly, hebes do not re-grow from woody stems.) Downy mildew can affect leaves, if they are in damp conditions, so avoid watering from above, and remove any spoiled leaves. |

| Description | Hebes are native to South Africa and New Zealand, and are evergreen gems! They are very low maintenance, and produces masses of flowers throughout the Summer (which attract bees and butterflies). Foliage varies from blue tinted (glaucus) foliage, to green. The varieties we stock are mostly fully hardy (please check the labels). |
