Paeonia (Tree peony)
Price
£ 7.50 / £
Colours
pink, red
Size
Height: 75cm-2.5m / 30inches - 8ft
Spread: 1m / 3ft
Aspect
They will grow in sun or partial shade, but prefer to be sheltered from cold, drying winds. Suitable for South and West facing gardens.
Care
They need a deep fertile soil. It is best to enrich your soil with well rotted organic matter before planting. Prune out the shoots that have already flowered (to prevent it looking messy), and remove old wood, as this will encourage bushy re-growth. Most are fully hardy but some are a bit tender, and late frosts may damage young growths and flower buds. Young plants will need a cane for support.
Uses
-Lovely bed/border plant
-Cottage/informal garden
Description
