minicorns need spacings of 15cm/6inches. 4 plants can be grown in a 30cm/12inch pot
Aspect
Warm, sheltered and sunny site.
Care
Must be planted in blocks of at least 4 plants (Sweetcorns need to pollinate with each other).Prefers a well darined soil, avoid very dry, cold or heavy soils. Easy to grow in a sunny Summer, but not so successful in cold or wet seasons. Each plant should produce one or two cobs.
Uses
-Produces terrifically tasty Sweetcorn
-Could be grown at the back of a bed or border,where its tall grass like leaves could create a nice structure
-mini sweetcorns can be grown in containers as part of a patio kitchen.
Description
Bought Sweetcorn does not even nearly compare to the sweet, senstational flavour of home grown sweetcorn. The longer a Sweetcorn has been picked, the more the stored energy within the crop converts from sugar (hence the sweetness) to starch!
