AspectFull sun, but can take some shade as well.
CareTurnips prefer moist, cool conditions, and tolerate mild frosts. Must be watered regularly in hot, dry weather to prevent plants from bolting. They will keep in the ground until New Year, any still growing after that can be used for the leaves. Cut the leaves 10-15 cm from the root, and they will usually re-grow several times.

DescriptionThis root vegetable belongs to the cabbage family. The young Turnip leaves can also be eaten as a spicey Spring green.The leaves are quite attractive, they are light green in colour, with a thin and slighty hairy appearance. Quick growing cultivars can be used for catchcropping.
