Care
Tomatoes require a fertile, well drained soil. When watering, mixed tomato feed into your watering can once or twice a week, once the trusses/flowers have formed (not before). If the first truss is produced while the plant is quite small, pinch it off to allow the plant to mature. You must pinch out any side shoots (except with bush cultivars). Overwatering reduces the flavour of the crop but allowing the plant to dry out and then watering it could cause the fruit to split. Protect from frost. If frosts threatens, and you cannot protect your tomatoes you should pick them, using the ripe ones (can be used in chutneys if necessary), and storing the unripe ones in a single layer in a cool dark place where it will continue to ripen.
Uses
-Produce the best tomatoes
-Easy to grow
-can be grown outside (be careful of the frost) or undercover.
Description
Tomatoes are delecatable, whether eaten cooked or raw. They taste so much sweeter when eaten freshly picked, and still warm from the sun's rays. They are easy to grow. Bush varieties can be grown in tubs or hanging baskets if you don't have much space. Can be grown outdoors, although a better yield is produced when grown in a greenhouse or polytunnel.
