AspectMust be in a warm, sheltered location (needs temperatures between 25-30 degrees Celius for good production).
CareNeeds a fertile, well drained soil. They also grow well in containers, where a rich multipurpose compost should be used. Plants may need a good cane for support. Only allow 4-6 fruits to grow on each plant. Keep plants well watered and once the fruits are developing, feed with a high potash organic liquid feed.

DescriptionThis compact, bushy tropical plant should be grown under cover (in a greenhouse or equivilent). The fruits have a fleshy texture and pleaseant taste when cooked. They are often used in Mediterranean dishes, such as ratatouille.
