An open, sunny site is preferred but a little shade is tolerated.
Care
They need a well drained soil, suitable for growing in containers. Water in dry conditions. Harvest 8 weeks after planting
(or when they have grown about 15cm/6in tall). Harvest alternately, thereby giving the others more space to grow into.
Uses
-Can be grown in containers as part of a patio kitchen
-easy to grow in any bed or vegetable patch
Description
Spring onions are basically small, mild flavoured onions. The have a long white/red stem. Cut off the roots and tip and the whole thing can be eaten raw in salads, or cooked.
