Description
Poppies are perfect for cottage garden, informal planting schemes. They have remarkable leaves which are hairy and fern-like. Their often large and papery flowers are produced from late spring to summer. Each flower is short lived, but that doesn't matter, as there are many more queuing up for their turn to bloom. When the flowers have finished the interest is extended by the striking seed heads.
