Aspect
Prefer dappled shade if possible, but dwarf alpine varieties will tolerate full sun.
Care
Needs acidic soil, moist but well drained. Shallow planting is essential (top off root ball should be level with the soil surface. Mulch annually with leaf mould or ericaceous compost. Snap off old flowers, but be careful not to damage next year's bud which will be directly beneath.

Description
Masses of brilliant flowers in awide range of colours. Available in many sizes, making it ideal for any garden. Needs acidic soil (if you don't have acid soil, plant in ericaceous compost in a container). They are evergreen, and their glossy, light reflecting leaves make them fantastic for brightening a shady spot.
