| Description | This is a deciduous bulbous perennial. The foliage is a rich burgundy-red, and shaped like hearts, hence its common name 'Purple Passion'. It originally comes from Peru, where it grows high up in the mountains, so its pretty tough when it comes to coping with the cold. It produces small pink flowers in spring-summer, which have a similar shape with buttercups. |
