Description
Josta berries are quite unusual in Britain, yet they are easy to grow, and are a combination of the best characteristics from blackcurrants and gooseberries. The fruits are black (like a blackcurrant), but they are larger and sweeter. They are very nutritious, and excellent for pies, jelly making and preserves, as well as fantastic when eaten fresh from the bush. Jostas take the look of a gooseberry plant, without the thorns, but has the vigorous growth and intense flavour of blackcurrants, with disease resistance.
