CareNeeds a poor, free draining soil; it cannot tolerate water logged conditions. Protect the roots from winter wet. Remove the flower spikes to encourage new leaf growth instead. If grown in containers, ensure that it has pleanty of room to avoid it becoming root bound.

DescriptionThis hardy perennial has long, narrow leaves, which are deep green. The flowers are yellow and insignificant. Its tate is very strong and desirable. It is added to bearnaise sauce, hollandaise sauce and mousseline, as well as vinegar, which serves as a salad dressing. It accompanies omlettes, marinated meatsand chicken stuffing. Its flavour is similar to anise.
