| Size | Height: 1m/3ft Spread: 1m/3ft |
| Aspect | Prefers full sun. Plant against a warm wall in very cold areas, especially if summers are also cold. |
| Care | Grow in light, moderately fertile soil, excellent on chalky soils. Prune the previous year's flowered shoots to three or four good buds, in early spring, so that a permanent framework of shoots will develop. If necessary, Caryopteris can be cut almost down to soil level. |
| Description | This is a deciduous shrub, which produces masses of small fluffy flowers in dark purple-blue. It has a low, mounding habit, with blue-green leaves. It makes a striking contrast to the yellow Potentilla. Fully hardy, flowers from late summer until autumn. |
