Why are you not open all year round?

We grow a vast amount of the plants we sell here at Davies Brothers therefore we are not open all year round. Our Spring season runs from late March to mid-July (depending on stock levels) and our Autumn season starts from early September and ends in November. We also have a Christmas season. For exact dates please see the Hours section of our website. 

Do you accept debit & credit cards?

Yes, the Nursery accepts debit and credit cards including American Express.

Can I order hanging baskets?

Unfortunately we do not take orders or reserve hanging baskets. During the Spring season we produce a massive range of beautiful colour schemed hanging baskets, if you require a particular colour scheme, we recommend purchasing your baskets during the month of May to avoid disappointment. During the Autumn season our Winter hanging baskets contain a mixture of colours and are under-planted with Spring bulbs, they are available from early September. 

When are your deliveries?

We have frequent deliveries of fresh, healthy plants and also grow a lot of our own plants on site. If you are after anything in particular please e-mail us. Also it's a good idea to sign up to our Nursery Newsletter as we send out regular e-mails letting our lovely customers know about the latest plants available. 

Do you recycle plant pots and trays?

Unfortunately black plastic pots and trays cannot be recycled. However we now have a range plants in taupe pots and trays, which can be recycled. Taupe pots are grey or blue and can be taken to a recycling centre (check with your local authority). We also use plastic free degradable pots, which can be planted straight into the ground. We will continue to extend our range of eco-friendly containers in order to eradicate the use of black plastic in the future.

Do you recycle or replant hanging baskets?

We are able to reuse our plastic 14" self-watering baskets and the smaller plastic hanging pots. We offer a £1.00 discount when you return an empty plastic self-watering 14" basket, complete with mat and disc. Baskets must have been purchased from us and be in good condition! Please note that the chains from your old basket will be transferred to your new basket.

Sorry we are unable to accept used wicker baskets as these cannot be re-planted. 

For those who wish to replant their own baskets we sell DIY tub and basket kits during the Spring and Autumn season, which make planting up fun and easy!

Why aren't you answering the phone?!

During peak season (May) the Nursery can get extremely busy, which makes answering the phone impossible at times. We apologise for this and suggest that you e-mail us and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, we sell our own Davies Brothers gift vouchers which are available to purchase directly from the Nursery and also via our website. We are sorry we do not accept National Garden Vouchers.
